Galloping Ghost Arcade Celebrates it's 5th Anniversary!

Galloping Ghost Arcade, now recognized as having the most games of any arcade in the USA, opened its doors in Brookfield Illinois on August 13, 2010. To celebrate 5 years of arcade culture, a great local community, new games, high scores and World Records, the Galloping Ghost Arcade will be hosting many events throughout the week:

Saturday August 8th:
Galloping Ghost Arcade's Summer Swap Meet - meet local collectors and vendors that will be there with arcade boards, retro consoles and games, and all kinds of random gaming swag. Also, on the 8th we will be revealing many new and rare titles available for play for the first time!

Sunday August 9th:
Weekly Super Smash Brothers (Wii U) Tournament - 7pm in the Tournament area (singles and teams, 5.00 venue fee, 5.00 to enter tournaments)
Start of Atari Week Tournament - set scores in 20 Atari arcade games to compete for the title of "Ace of Atari". Scores will be tracked on Aurcade.com.

Wednesday August 12th:
Galloping Ghost Arcade's Anniversary Podcast - Anyone in the local Arcade/Gaming community is welcome to attend and participate in an open podcast where anything and everything related to the arcade scene will be on the table; High scores, new arcades opening, collecting/repairing old machines, and listener submitted questions, as well.

Thursday August 13:
Gamer of the Year - The yearly title is awarded, and there are interviews with past Gamer's of the Year. This is officially the anniversary of the Arcade opening.

Ghost Battle Series - Our weekly Mortal Kombat X Tournament held in our Tournament area (5.00 venue fee).

Saturday August 15th:
AtariMania - AtariMania is said to be the next evolution of the Atari Jaguar Festival (Jagfest) Not only will it have the Jaguar but it will have a 2600 showing off the homebrew games and some classics. We plan to have few tournaments as well either on jaguar or 2600.
