This is a community-friendly event and the main point of this week each year is to light up the streams and hang out.

No sandbagging, please try to turn in your highest scores each day.

Please note all starting and end times of your game when you record a score. Please only submit a score that is HIGHER than one you have already submitted. Also, no need to turn them in every game you play, each 12-24 hrs is fine to start.

Please make a clip when possible of your submitted score.

Show all dip settings at the end of your game.

I understand leeching is pretty easy in Pig Out, that is fine. Leech away, play that shit for 12 hours if you want.

I'm having similar problems with these same 3 games. I have all of the others working. I believe it has something to do with needing parent roms in order for these roms to work.

I actually DID get helifira working by using this theory. First, I had to rename the file that I downloaded (originally named helifirea for some reason, although obviously having 9 characters in the romname wouldn't work anyway, so I renamed it to helifira). Once that was done, I downloaded a related rom called helifire (set 1?) and also put it into my roms folder. With that done I was able to run helifira successfully.

Unfortunately, so far I haven't had the same luck with kaitei or thepit. Since I run these in the command line, I do get some clues as to the problem -- it says there are files missing, which to me means we need a parent rom. However, I'm pretty certain that I found the correct parent rom for kaitei, which was kaitein (opening the zip file for that shows all of the files that were supposedly missing) -- however, for some reason kaitei still doesn't work. Same story for thepit. I'm pretty sure thepitj has all of the files that were missing, but for some reason thepit still doesn't work.

So, if anyone has a better idea about what to do to set up games that need parent roms, chime in!

As for settings, there were only one or two that I noticed deviated from MAME's default settings -- of course I can't remember which ones they were now but if someone could post a note about which ones do need to be changed it would be helpful.

The Pit is cool! If we can find a way to leave it in that would be nice.

I haven't played Kaitei Takara Sagashi but it is the only game of the roms I couldn't get working that wouldn't allow me to use the settings you listed. The default settings in my version are 4 lives and bonus at 4K, which I can't set lower to meet the settings you listed.

There's probably minimal difference between the different rom versions, so as long as everyone is playing with the same settings I think we're fine.

I don't like switching out games mid-tourney unless we absolutely must.

Same thing as Ross with Kaitei for me, 4 men and 4K are my lowest settings. I'm using wolf.106

Unfortunately, due to unknowingly buying a UEFI motherboard, i don't know how to get windows xp or 7 installed and am therefore unable to participate (or even watch). Good luck everyone.

Zerst, if you have a copy of windows 7 I could probably help you get it installed. There is a way!
