Aurcade.com Mappy Tournement
on 10/20/2011 2:04:21 PM
I have not come up with a complete set of rules but its pretty simple. Best Mappy score by 11-20-2011 wins the $100 prize.
Basic rules
Difficulty Rank B
Extra lives at 20k and 70k
1. Game must be played/streamed live on Justin.TV (AKA Twitch.tv) or USTREAM
2. You need to be able to clip the performance so someone can verify the gameplay. In some cases a ref may be watching the stream and can verify it right then but you'll still want to clip the broadcast so the rest of us can enjoy it,
3. You can use MAME (any version without obvious ways to exploit the game), You can play on an actual machine if you are lucky enough to have one, you can play on a multicab/multiboard that has Mappy as long as gameplay is not obviously different from MAME or the original machine.
4. You will need and Aurcade.com account with your stream URL setup in the 'stream' field so the notification system works and we know who is streaming when.
5. First place prize is $100. for the highest score at the end of the contest 11-20-2011 Midnight PST. Second place is a Mappy poster donated by ThisOldGame.com and 'The Pigger Prize' of FIVE american dollars goes to the highighest level 1-1 single man score.
Good Luck and Happy gaming!

I dont know enough about the 60-1's version of mappy to make a call on it but MAME and original aurcade machines count.
This will be an online thing so you'll need to have the ability to stream your performance.

In case you want a head start on writing out the check...that's Greg...with a "G".

If we can get 'G'reg to stream that'd be awesome.
If not lets see if 'S'teve can win it! Maybe we can get 'S'uper Supreme to start streaming too, I be he could put up a serious score with a month to practice. Maybe 'R'ichie Knucklez wants to add to his list of records???
Money to play games, its our dream!

Mappy is on the 48-in-1/60-in-1's. You should be able to set it to the same settings as MAME or arcade (I think they're basically running an old version of MAME anyway). I doubt I'll participate though. I don't have a decent stream, and I suck at Mappy ;)

Difficulty: B Number of Mappy's: 3 Bonus Mappy's: 1st at 20,000 & 2nd at 70,000 And I'll take a 60-1 score for this contest, I cant imagine there are to many differences.

I decided to add a special 'pigger' prize for the highest single man score on Mappy's first screen.
$5. to the highest Mappy 1-1 by the end of the high score contest.

Looks like this is the variation I'll be sticking to.

For MAME entries, is an INP required? If so, what version? WM106? Thanks

An inp is not required. What you will need is a way to stream the game live via JTV or USTREAM or some other streaming site and a way to save/clip the recording (ustream and jtv both have the function)
You can use whatever version of mame you are comfortable with.
Hope to see you playing soon!

Arcade Legends (Ultracade) has Mappy. If I can match the settings, would it also be eligible?
